It is not likely just due to the timing of the data collection for this study. Much work in other areas shows the same consistent biases against men and whites, counter to the popular academic narratives. I'm working on a heterodox reader for psych of gender courses to help highlight some of these issues. If anyone is interested in potentially collaborating, please let me know. : )

I agree that plenty of research has shown similar biases, and that it’s unlikely to be an anomolous finding specific to the early 2020s. It will be interesting to see whether it’s less common these days than before the presidential orders.
