It’s a new dispute to me as a retired guy in the North of Scotland. I don’t much keep up with my such developments now that I’m long retired and prefer to devote myself to the interests that I formerly couldn’t pursue, save for the few I love. But, good grief! It’s surely a strange world in academia and therapy land (always was a bit) these days. The scary analogy to me here is with
“motte and bailey” which, when you think on it, was one of the most successful military and, dare I say, colonial devices in the invasion, colonisation and subjugation of peoples and lands in Europe and the UK in medieval times. The Normans showed us its might and that’s where fortresses and castles have their origins in these parts.
In theory, they are - in the US. It'll remain to be seen what will happen in practice, and outside the US...
I deleted my post by accident. You’re not in the US?
Hahaha, I've done that many times!
No, I'm in Malaysia, but originally from New Zealand.

Of course, I knew that! Well, I’ve disliked race and gender politics right from its beginnings, and here in Canada we’re seeing a healthy pushback 🙏
Good, glad to hear that - especially given I've heard it's quite extreme in Canada.
I used to live in Canada, by the way - Hamilton, Ontario.
Not as bad as it’s made out to be. Mostly the universities, which won’t surprise you.
Glad to hear that as well!
