Steve, you mention sex differences in STEM can be chalked up to interests. But interests may reflect what one is good at, and proficiency or ability seems likely to be a better explanation for the sex imbalance in STEM - particularly for the "M" field, which is my own. What sort of experiment could tease apart these explanations?
